The Ghana national team, the Black Stars are in the same group with England and Croatia
The Ghana national team, the Black Stars, are indeed in Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, alongside England, Croatia, and Panama. This is a challenging group, with England and Croatia being European powerhouses, and Panama bringing a strong CONCACAF presence.
Otto Addo, the head coach of the Black Stars, has expressed confidence in his team's ability to compete, saying, "It's a tough group, it's doable. There are worse groups, to be honest." He believes a positive start against Panama could shift momentum in Ghana's favor.
England's head coach, Thomas Tuchel, has also acknowledged the strength of the group, stating, "Difficult group with Croatia and Ghana, two regulars in World Cups and two proud and strong nations".
The Black Stars will face Panama on June 17, 2026, followed by matches against England and Croatia. With the expanded 48-team format, Ghana has a realistic chance of advancing to the knockout stage.
