There's no indication that the Ghana Football Association and the Black Stars coaches and technical staff will drop Benjamin Asare for Jordan Owusu-Oduro for the upcoming World Cup.

In fact, Benjamin Asare has been performing well as the first-choice goalkeeper, keeping clean sheets in both matches against Chad and Madagascar. Head coach Otto Addo has also confirmed Asare as Ghana's first-choice goalkeeper following his standout performances in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers 

The recent changes to the Black Stars technical team were aimed at revamping the national side ahead of crucial upcoming tournaments, with the appointment of German coach Wilfried Schäfer as technical advisor and other key appointments. However, there's no mention of plans to replace Asare with Owusu-Oduro
