Two Arrested on Agordeke–Donkorkrom Road for Possessing Narcotic Drugs
JHNews || Two men transporting narcotics along the Agordeke–Donkorkrom stretch have been arrested, exposing yet again how drug trafficking continues to thrive through Ghana’s rural corridors.
Agordeke, Eastern Region — November 16, 2025:
Police have arrested two men on the Agordeke–Donkorkrom road after they were found in possession of suspected narcotic drugs during a routine operation.
According to the Ghana Police Service, officers conducting highway patrols intercepted the suspects after observing suspicious behaviour. A search of their vehicle uncovered quantities of dried leaves and substances believed to be narcotics.
The two suspects were immediately taken into custody and are assisting police with investigations. The seized items have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for further analysis.
Police say the arrests form part of a broader strategy to clamp down on the trafficking of illegal drugs across the Afram Plains enclave, a known transit corridor used by criminal networks.
Authorities have also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements, stressing that the fight against drug trafficking requires community cooperation.
